Introducing Northwest Neighbors Network...
because there really is no place like home
Welcome to NNN
Northwest Neighbors Network (NNN) is a local grass-root nonprofit dedicated to helping area residents "age in place" -- stay living as long as possible in the comfort & security of their own homes, apts., etc. (instead of moving into a living facility) with support from local volunteers of all ages & pre-screened professionals offering NNN members a discounted rate.
NNN will coordinate such things as rides to appointments, shopping trips, household & yard care, simple home repairs, phone check-ins & friendly visits, & social & wellness activities.
Similar non-profits, commonly known as “Villages” or “Senior Villages” (see post below and right), are springing up all over the U.S. as well as other countries. The Greater Seattle area has a half dozen Villages started or in process, & now NNN is working to bring the Village concept to the Shoreline/ LFP/ South Edmonds/ Woodway/ Mountlake Terrace/ South Lynnwood area.
NNN envisions vibrant, inter-generationally networked neighborhoods where the happy norm is neighbors young & old engaging in mutually enhancing relationships that make it possible for aging residents to stay in the comfort of home & familiar neighborhood, remaining in the community they have given to and continue to love.
If this resonates with you, or brings to mind someone with whom it would, please click the sign up button or email us at info@NorthwestNeighborsNetwork.org. And stay tuned...more details are coming!
NNN's a Village. What's that?
Villages are not so much a place as they are a plan for aging well wherever you live -- your apartment, condo, house, room in shared living, trailer, etc.
- are grass-roots, membership-driven organizations
- are run by volunteers & paid staff
- coordinate access to affordable services such as transportation, home repair, health & wellness programs and social & educational activities.
NNN is a personal, central resource that connects you with other Village members, neighborhood volunteers, Village staff and local agencies & vetted professionals who provide services that help you continue to live at home as you age.
Volunteer services and many staff-provided ones are free to members; professionals & agencies charge fees but may give discounts to Village members. Volunteers and service providers will undergo background checks (and Motor Vehicle license checks for drivers) to assess the quality of their services.

NNN Intro Info Meetings
A great way to learn about NNN is to attend one of our 1-hour interactive presentations, where light refreshments & engaging conversation are always cordially served. Stay tuned for upcoming meetings. Also, see In-home NNN Info Gatherings below.
Able to Host? Invite? Bake? Buy?
We'd love to hear from hospitable hosts, industrious inviters, eager epicureans and big-hearted buyers willing to open their homes, invite others and/or provide light refreshments to enjoy as neighbors gather to learn about NNN. If you feel the nudge to host, spread the word or bake/buy, please email us at info@NorthwestNeighborsNetwork.org.
In-home NNN Info Gatherings
Perhaps the best way to learn about NNN is to attend one of our 1-hour interactive presentations hosted by gracious neighbors for groups of 8 to 10 in their home, apt., condo activity room, etc. Light refreshments & engaging conversation are always served there as well.
We like to meet on a small, more intimate scale because NNN's presentation, being both informative and interactive, invariably raises heartfelt discussion and many personalized questions. This is also a great setting in which to get to know your neighbors better.
As people volunteer to host in home, we'll post those meeting dates, times and general locations here. To sign up for a NNN info meeting, email us at info@NorthwestNeighborsNetwork.org with your phone # and date preferences. A coordinator will let you know if space is available and provide your host assignment details.
