History and Current Activity

Building on four years of planning and officially incorporating as a 501(c)3 nonprofit, in February 2019, NNN began serving its first Senior members in our North King County and South Snohomish County communities.

Growing despite - and perhaps because of - the pandemic, our young organization tends to members' needs with a focus on what was most lacking in the early days of stay-at-home orders - social visits, walks, and medical transportation.

During our six year history, we have grown more than 40+% each year.

NNN has over 360 members and volunteers as of March 2025.   In 2025, we project we will do more than 5,400 individual services for members and our volunteers will have logged more than 10,200 hours to perform those services.  We are planning on holding 350+ social and educational events in 2025, for which we expect 2,100 participants to attend.  We also have a large contingent of volunteers that perform various functions so that the NNN community operations can function well. who will log over 8,200 hours in 2025.

Since our launch in 2019. over 820 people have participated as either members or volunteers, or in some cases both. From launch in 2019 through 2025, we expect to perform more than 19,700 individual services for our members.

Although all seniors and adults with disabilities are welcome at all income levels, w as members we emphasize serving  low to moderate income* members, which represent 80+% of the total members we serve.

*defined as annual income below $60,000

NNN is a Virtual Village -- What is That?

Northwest Neighbors Network (NNN) is not a specific place; it's a community of trusted volunteers who support our member’s ability to plan for aging well wherever they call home

Most people prefer to live in their own homes as they age, but need a community to support the challenges of independence. NNN was established as one of the growing numbers of virtual villages across the nation to meet the needs of local Seniors.

Virtual Villages:

  • are a central resource of help for day-to-day “neighbor helping neighbor” needs
  • are grass-roots, membership-driven organizations
  • are shaped by member interests and needs
  • are run by volunteers and limited paid staff
  • coordinate access to affordable services such as transportation, minor household fixes and tasks, health/wellness programs
  • coordinate social and educational activities
